Is this the end of Call Center Jobs here in the Philippines?
0 comments Published Monday, May 31, 2010 by Obelixtus in call center, call center jobs, Politics, Sen. Charles Schumer
Schumer wants to slow exodus of US call centers.
“If we want to put a stop to the outsourcing of American jobs, then we need to provide incentives for American companies to keep American jobs here,” Schumer said last week. The New York Democrat said the excise tax would “also provide a reason for companies that have already outsourced jobs to bring them back.”
If this bill ever turns to be a law in the near future, expect the rate of unemployment to go way-way up. Tsk tsk tsk.

We've accidentally stumbled upon Sebastian's Ice Cream Studio in SM Mall of Asia on a hot summer day. Then we went inside the store, checked out the menu and out of curiosity, I ordered this: Chilly Burger worth almost Php 200. A bit pricey for a single serving ice cream if you ask me.

There's a huge sale on Trinoma Mall this coming weekend, May 28-29, 2010. Just in time for our scheduled visit to this mall to buy some groceries since stocks are running low. So right now, I'm expecting heavy traffic outside and inside the mall. We usually go there by late noon so we'll probably be having a hard time to find a parking slot.

Which Hand to Wear Your Wedding Ring

Just recently had to switch from right hand to left hand on where I wear my wedding ring after reading these facts from ehow.com:
Wearing your wedding ring on your left ring finger stems from an old belief that it contained a vein that connected to the heart, an edict that England's King Edward VI made official during the 16th century. But there are people today who choose to wear it on their right hand.

Here's the result for the most exciting 30 minutes in the NBA that doesn't have to do with playing basketball. Yes, I'm talking about the 2010 NBA Draft Lottery. So what is it? According to Wikipedia:
"The NBA Draft Lottery is an annual event held by the National Basketball Association (NBA) in which the teams who had missed the playoffs in the previous season participate in a lottery process to determine the draft order in the NBA Draft. In the NBA Draft, the teams obtain the rights to amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. The lottery winner would get the first selection in the draft. The term "lottery pick" denotes a draft pick whose position is determined through the lottery, while the non-playoff teams involved in the process are often called "lottery teams".
In the current rules, 14 non-playoff teams participate in the Draft Lottery. The lottery is weighted so that the team with the worst record has the best chance to obtain a higher draft pick. The lottery process determines the first three picks of the draft. The rest of the first-round draft order is in reverse order of the teams' win-loss record. The lottery does not determine the draft order in the subsequent rounds of the draft"

The 2010 Philippines Presidential Election is almost over and Liberal Party standard bearer Senator Noynoy Aquino still leading the tally. While other presidential aspirants have already conceded the race, Senator Aquino has a huge 5 million vote gap against Former President Erap Estrada, who still have his hopes high up.
The Next Vice President of The Philippines: Binay vs Roxas
0 comments Published by Obelixtus in 2010 Presidential Election, Alpha Phi Omega, Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, Politics, Senator Mar Roxas, Sigma Rho, Tau Gamma Phi, Triskelion Grand Fraternity
COMELEC (Commission on Election) result as of May 11, 2010 15:57hrs shows Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay winning by less than a million votes against Senator Mar Roxas II. According to Liberal Party, it's still winnable for their VP bet as there are still uncanvassed election results from these provinces: Misamis Occidental, Agusan del Norte, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Samar, Tarlac, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Pampanga. But according to Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino VP bet, the only way he'll ever lose is he got cheated.
